“NEWness” (a poem by Shannon Vance & KPKeelan)

.

What we need

are new traditions

with revived significance.

New rituals

not empty, like the old.

Newness!

Maybe even new taboos….

NEW MYTHOLOGY

DIFFERENT ROLE MODELS,

IMPROVED ARCHETYPES.

CAREFULLY CONSTRUCTED TO

IMBUE IN THE MASS PSYCHE

A DISTASTE FOR MACHISMO

(ULYSSES REPLACED BY EINSTIEN)

What we need

are new Einsteins.

Let’s reexamine

the concept of newness

and its opposite.

While we’re at it

let’s reexamine

everything!

What a shrewd observation portrayed in a magical poem. Well done! 🙂 Looking at the fact how the gay communities were perpetually discriminated by the Judeo-Christian-Islam traditions that even their right to marry is denied, perhaps we also need a new God?

#PS: I am not gay, I just have the sympathy for those who are 😉
