“THE EGREGIOUS OFFENSE OF FAKE MUSIC” (a poem by KPKeelan) [12-18-13]

4December.

Thud! Thud! Thud!
goes the plastic beat-
eardrums pulse, prisoners to the rhythm
as I wait to pick up my food.

It’s corporate “music”,
made by formula.
Could have been composed by a machine
and I’m a captive audience.
People like this crap?
Really?
That’s not creativity,
that’s craven commerce.
Four/four: as boring as it gets.
But you can dance to it!
Sure you can- in a nightclub,
if you put your intellect away.
But who wants to do that?
Time for change.

Unplug the computer, put away the code!
Somebody please
make some music with a brain and a beat.

Why not?

Must they be
mutually-exclusive?
