Poems of a Young Man: “Gamesmanship”

(for Katmai)

.

Hope you don’t mind

my borrowing your mountain…

(Your mountain, my dream)

Now-

are we

as clear as we will ever be?

I hope not!

(We can do better than this.)

Is Trust

so delicate?

What are dreams for anyway?

Are there any

scientific controls

for Intuition?

If

we must be gaming

then

where does your game end

and mine begin?

Where can I pick up a copy of the manual?

Gamesmanship

is another defense.

But thanks.

Thanks for sharing yourself

your visions

and defenses

your articulate passions/your intimate trepidation

your Kodiak dream

(that sensual mountain/those spiritual heights!)

Our silly mistakes.
