Poems of a Young Man: “Time to Be Late”

Time!

You frustrate me to no end!

Will we

or will we not?

Time, tell me now!

Waiting…       Waiting…       Waiting…

for my lover to show.

(Like waiting for Godot!)

Daylight, daytime-

pass me right by.

She’s in town but not nearby.

(Say “Bye-bye!”)

Fate, fate!

Are you due here much too late?

I won’t cajole,

I won’t berate.

You are, after all

inescapable fate.

Andrea!

You are LATE!

Another one of those, “I can relate to that”. Nice.
