Poems of a Young Man: “Q: ? / A: !” (© KPKeelan)

Lead weights

like tiny balls of dark matter

drag my face

With eyelids

like cracked granite

lips of brick

a mind as fluid

as ice-

I lift the other foot.

One – Two / One – Two / One – Two

Is there a world going on out there?

Do these sounds conspire

Do these streets

lead me

Between the glass sky

and the stained pavement

we walk.

Feet like mud.

Eyes like fire.
