Poems of a Young Man: “No Rest For the Weary” (© KPKeelan)

.

Cascading ignorance,

a flag of BEAUTY unfurled

we walked unafraid

into THE SANCTUARY,

looked about in bewilderment

and decided to build

a NEST OF NOTHINGNESS

and sit sucking security

from this pretty void.

So, so tentatively

we set about our useless preparations

for THE RISING NIGHT

perching

like berserk birds

on treetops so fragile

they reject our weightless

WEIGHT,

and spitting us back

from whence, in buffoonery

we came-

wearily, wearily into

this BLACKNESS

of deathly DAY.

No rest.

No rest.
