Poems of a Young Man: “ME, TROLL…”

(or: Who is Dr. Karemeos Z. Similkemeen and Why is He Doing Those Strange Things and Blaming Them on Me?)”

DSCN3484.

What formless monster

keeps me awake such inhuman hours,
robbing me of peaceful sleep?
Will this beast inside me
never let me be?
(Will I never put this pencil down?)
Where in this earthly incarnation
is there real satisfaction?
Could this be what the beast is after?
I hear the words of Peer Gynt
reverberating in my intentions:
To thy own self Troll,
be ENOUGH.
But still,
my sagging eyes
watch my hand give silent expression
to the dumb gargoyle
that I am-
giving vent
to this twisted creature of the mind
crouching within my subconscious.
When the hour grows late,
the fiend grows weary of his
social cage
and begins to rattle the bars,
demanding freedom.
Jarring me
forcing my hand
becoming me…
Me:
Troll.
Savage.
Brute.
Creature.
Beast.
Being.
Encased

in a coat of human skin.

Wow. What an extensive sight. I will return later. And thanks for the wonderful meeting.

  3. The Troll has a very open soul, he paints it on his sleeve, and it’s not always easy to read, but it’s always provoking reactions that show us we’re not dead (and that he notices us as we are noticing him))
