GUESTBOOK (2012) 33: “The Wind’s Twelve Quarters” (by Bill Caufield)

We scattered ourselves to the wind’s twelve quarters.

to see where we would find

the loving heart

the searching mind-

the soul willing to try;

a wasteland of emotion

a barren, twisted scene-

to meet ourselves here anon

and wander in our dreams.

We’ll know ourselves when we meet-

the twelve who were as one

foggotten nigh

the forgotten high

has once again begun.

(c. Bill Caufield, 1- 1- 80)

(for Erik, Kevin, John, Stacy, Byron, Kurt, Shannon, Don, Stuart, Craig, Michael and for me.)
